Autumn update

As we step into December and wintertime, I've been reflecting on the autumn season. Not only was it incredibly mild and dry (which, on the one hand, is lovely but also worrying because it demonstrates how the climate has changed), but it has also been delightfully full-on.

As well as the MA course at AUB ticking along nicely: I’ve just completed a module on the craft of writing, I am now at the beginning of a new module focusing on a public-facing project, which, again, is fun to do, I have been developing a couple of new projects - collaborating with various other creatives on all sorts of things, all with a nature focus - due to see the light of day in the new year - so that's very exciting!
I have also been volunteering with a fantastic charity called The Story Works, which offers free creative writing sessions to children, among other things. They've been great fun to work with.
And I've also been writing for a couple of publications, due for print in the Spring, and kept my ever-growing Substacks spinning.
Thinking ahead, I am aware that my final project is just around the corner, and so I've also been tussling with the various directions it could take. I know I need to carve out space to let those ideas percolate, but I am having so much fun.
Usually, in winter, I'd try to release a few things as part of a ritual around the winter solstice, as a way to focus my mind, but I don't want to release anything, and this is something I aim to discuss in my next issue of TYL! Relating this learning to my practices and the bigger picture. I am always considering the bigger picture!
